EXPOSITION PARK HISTORY
Originally created in 1872 as an agricultural park. 148 acres were set aside for the Southern District Agricultural Society. Renamed Exposition Park. Sunken Garden renamed Rose Garden in 1927.
JOURNAL ENTRY
The Exposition Park Rose Garden is connected to The National History Museum. From the time period 1871 – to 1911, the Rose Garden was a part of the city’s Agricultural Park. The land transitioned into a Rose Garden in 1928. The Exposition Rose Garden hosts thousands of bushes and hundreds of rose varieties. Not all the roses were in full bloom at the time of my visit but there was enough eye candy to complete my mission. USC (The University of Southern California) is across the street from the Museum and the Rose Garden.
There is a feeling of peace and calmness as I peruse the garden for pics of its earthly delights. The flowers and plants are curated beautifully in a seamless layout.
